This article will look at how TikTok operates and how usersinters interact with each another. Let’s get started.

The Process Behind TikTok

We didn’t know how TikTok ranked its material until lately. Influencers that were successful on the site and were highlighted on the For You page lacked a solid plan. They must have earned their way to stardom on the platform. Tiktok recently explained how their platform works [2] as well as the ranking elements they use. Each of these elements is detailed more below:

Interaction with the user

Users are served the posts that they interact with. As a result, if you routinely connect with a certain account, you’re more likely to receive comparable material from other accounts. The video completion rate is another ranking signal in this component. Users who view your films all the way through are more inclined to recommend them to others. As a TikTok content producer or company owner, you should create movies that hold the user’s interest in order to make it to the For You page.

Information on video

Users are more likely to encounter additional material with the same sound or hashtag after exploring a certain piece of content or hashtag. This explains why you constantly seeing other challenges’ information on your For You page.

Device or account configuration

The language preference, location, and device kind of a user all influence the sort of material TikTok provides them. However, it does not influence a video’s rating as much as other elements. TikTok is a worldwide market, so your video will not be limited to consumers in your immediate neighbourhood.

The Way Users Interact With Each other

TikTok users may engage with one another by commenting or talking over a video, or by creating separate chat channels for themselves.

Until recently, any users could send direct messages, however as of April 2020, you must be over the age of 16 to access TikTok private chat.

Those under the age of 16 were barred from chatting privately on the network, but they may post openly in the comments sections of videos [3]. On the site, you may make new acquaintances or interact with old ones.

Direct communication

Before you may send a message to a TikTok user, you must follow them or be friends with them. This is determined by the recipient’s privacy settings, which might range from friends only to public for messages.

To send messages, you must also provide a legitimate phone number. This is to prevent spam.
Comment on videos If you are unable to send direct messages due to age or phone number restrictions, you may still comment on the user’s videos.

You may also reply to other users’ comments on your favourite influencers’ videos. This is another way to communicate with your friends or another person.

You can comment on a video and send private messages, but you can also be prevented from doing so. TikTok does not tolerate abuse or spam, thus it has a function that lets users to limit who can send them messages.

Being prevented from sending a message or leaving a remark on TikTok is not the same as being unable to send a message. If you get a notice that reads “unable to send,” it might be a temporary glitch with TikTok messaging. Wait a few moments, and then refresh your app if nothing changes.
